Laser tattoo removal can be done anywhere on the body. At Dermatology Experts, we use a specialized Q-Switched Yag/KTP laser that can target and break up tattoo ink of all colors easily. Ink pigments are destroyed under the laser while the surrounding skin cells are left untouched.
CoolSculpting® employs a process known as Cryolipolysis. (“Cryo” = cold + “lipo” = fat cells + “lysis” = cell death and removal.) During treatment, stubborn fat deposits are subjected to controlled cooling.
The controlled cooling safely penetrates the skin. Subcutaneous fat cells begin to freeze. This ruptures the cell’s membrane. The ruptured fat cells are flagged for apoptosis –cell death and removal.
Over the passage of several weeks, the body’s immune system gathers the demolished fat cells. Frozen fat cells ultimately exit the body as waste. These fat cells cannot return or be replaced.

The laser can be switched to 1064 nanometers, which targets and destroys the black ink used in tribal tattoos and to outline colored tattoos.
It depends on the tattoo. Fine line tattoos with black ink respond the most readily to tattoo removal treatments, while the ink in colorful tattoos can take a number of treatments to be fully removed. Regardless, the Q-Switched Yag/KTP Laser can effectively target and destroy both types of ink and remove both black and colored tattoos.
Colored ink in lighter shades are harder to remove since they don’t absorb as much light and heat from the laser. However, our specialized laser has a setting that works on vibrantly colored tattoos. It will destroy the ink, which is then removed by the body.
